Re: Any verification on Azores pyramid?

The resolution of that sonar rig turns every contour line into a straight line...reading contour lines was part of my profession for 25 years....I believe it is an artifact of the equipment and not physical reality. Looking at the monitor does indicate that there is obviously a steep protrusion on f...

Re: Another Bogus Certainty Bites the Dust

A new form of anthropoid primate has been discovered in Myanmar (Burma), adding to growing evidence that anthropoids — a family that includes monkeys, apes and humans — evolved in Asia and subsequently migrated to Africa. http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/early-primates-originated-asia-migra...

Re: Oldest NA Rock Art Found

Hmm...... so the sign is the same (cupules) but the signified is different......... zig zag lines, whorls and cupules. My intuition tells me these signs go way way back. Before we took to scratching on stone...perhaps even hard wired to some degree.

Semiotics, both Saussurean and Piercean have been applied to material culture and rock art but there must be a sign that can be reconised as a signifier or havi...

moccasins (much superior to colonial shoes) as long as the weather was nice. If it rained or snowed though, wearing moccasins was (as 18th century frontier people put it) "a polite way to go barefoot." :( nonsense :) Let me offer a counter anecdote from the same period I have a book "The unredeemed...

Re: Neanderthal Cultural Diversity

I have always wondered why disease carried by modern humans is not given more prominence as a possible reason for the demise of old slope head. It's possible but it is also true that man did not seem to get into serious diseases until he started domesticating animals. I'm not prepared to give HNS a...

Nah… If the American Indians , at the stone age level, could get across the Mississippi our increasingly realized talented co-inhabits must have been able to cross it. I would guess a desire to “do it like Dad did.” And that lead to their demise. yeah... there is stone age and then there is stone a...

Wow...staggering to be able to see evidence of a human activity ,not necessary for survival ,with that sort of dispersion and antiquity. The picture of the cupules in western Nevada is giving me fits..I just can't get an idea of the scale..are those are tea cup sized cupules or are they bowl-ules. I...
